Bill took Wood Badge NE-IV-143 in 2002 and served as Quartermaster for Wood Badge NE-IV-163 in 2004. In 2003, he was Quartermaster for Chester County Council's first PowderHorn Course. Bill earned the Life rank from Phoenixville Troop 56 in 1968. He served as an Assistant Scoutmaster for a special needs troop from Pennhurst in the early 70’s. Among Bill’s many Scouting awards are the Advisors Key, Advisors Award of Merit, Venturing Leadership Award, the District Award of Merit and the training awards for both Boy Scouting & Venturing programs. For the last Seven years he has served on Youth Leadership Training staff (YLT) and staffed the Patrol Leader Development Conference (PLDC) for six years including serving as Course Director for 2006 & 2007. He served as ghost staff for the Venturing Leadership Skills Course since 2003, serving as Course Advisor for five years. He has also staffed IOLST and BALOO several times along with staffing three Council Camporees, one District Camporee, one District Klondike derby and the Special Needs Camporee for the last seven years. His Venturing Crew staffed two Leave No Trace Camporees and one Klondike Derby for Octoraro District. Bill has enjoyed Scouting along with his family. He is especially proud of his Eagle Scout son, Michael (aka “Chubbs”) and Silver Award recipient daughter, Saralyn. Both Michael and Saralyn have served on camp staff and as volunteer leaders.
