TROOP 73 has transformed the bathrooms at Valley Forge Fire Company that were built 31 years ago into functional, handicap accessible bathrooms for both ladies and scouts. Originally the bathrooms were built for the Bicentennial wagon train that stayed at the fire company back on July 4th 1976; some of the older scouts might remember that joyous celebration. The troop worked weekends starting July 21st 2007 and finished on September 8th 2007. Many scouts and Adult leaders were there to lend a helping hand and for that we give many thanks go to:

Warthog Patrol: Special thanks go to;
Tom Valco for showing up on the first day of work with his concrete gas saw. Tom cut new openings for the exterior doors and cut the floor for the new toilets in the men’s room. He even jack hammered the floor and removed the concrete. I’m sure he slept well that night.
Steve Krause for showing up on various weekends and helping out where he could. He also had made several trips to Home Depot for materials when asked.
Craig Bateman for making several runs to a dumpster ½ mile from the fire company. There by eliminating a large pile of unsightly trash.
Bill Kassel for showing up on every work weekend and working tirelessly till the end of each day. Special Thanks goes to Bill for thoroughly cleaning the troop shed on July 21st, he disposed of equipment that dated back to the early 80’s, much of it was trash or was riddled with mouse----. The shed is now clean from front to back and top to bottom.
Andy Cappelli for his special construction talents. Andy’s contributions were the donation of the vanities and their installation in both bathrooms, installation of the ceiling track, walls, doors, fan duct work, supervising of his sons (Andrew and Thomas) installing a drainage area for the outside spigot and lets not forget Maggie for showing up with Caecilian pizza and soda.
Tom Savoy & Paul Schwarz for their presentation and mediation with the fire company on the renovation of these bathrooms which took place long before construction began. With their vision and campground funding this project went forward. This project was a long time coming for both of them. A very special thanks goes out to both of them.
Chris Grover- Plumber- Adult Advisor for Venture Crew 94
Chris handled all of the plumbing aspects of this job. All fixtures, piping, toilets, and urinals, were sold to the troop at cost and Chris donated his time on this project and for that we are deeply grateful. Oh, almost forgot, Chio helped.
